Orthopedic Technician, Department of Orthopedics

Position Highlights:

Position: Orthopedic Technician

Location: Lincolnshire, IL

Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Hours: Monday-Friday, rotating hours between 7:00am - 7:00pm, in addition to rotating Saturdays

Travel: to other medical group offices in Lake County as needed

What you will do:

Greet patients and place in exam room

Perform vital signs

Perform dressing changes

Fit required durable medical equipment (DME)

Cast removal, cast and splint application

Assistance with casting procedures under fluoroscopy

Speak with patients over the phone and assist with problems

Educate patients on care

Support physician and office activity

What you will need:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred

Certification: Current CPR certification required, passing the Registered Orthopaedic Technologist certification test within 12 months of hire date

Experience: One year of experience in a physician practice setting preferred

Skills: Evidence of leadership, problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, basic computer skills and clinical competence
