Principal, Project Management - Visual Merchandising

We're looking for a Principal, Project Management - Visual Merchandising lead to join our team and support the National Retail expansion of our Cafe network. This is a hybrid position based in our New York, McLean or Chicago offices. You will be joining a dynamic, highly skilled and forward thinking team, with a passion for enhancing our customer experience in our built environment.

As a Visual Merchandising Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing Capital One products, services and benefits to life in a way that feels approachable to our current and prospect customers. Our cafe environment is unique within the financial services industry and, as part of it, you will be reinventing the way financial products come to life while creating experiences that spark the interest and curiosity of our customers. What you'll be doing:

Lead the design and execution of selected seasonal VM campaigns to be implemented in all cafes across our network

Experienced in bringing products to life through flawless seasonal campaigns while thinking about the "what's next", with a deep understanding of both the Art and the Science of what makes each campaign successful

Elevate the visual retail experience through a forward-thinking approach: you are a future focused and visionary team player able to inspire and test merchandising ideas through creative content that is adaptable to different layouts, while delivering a consistent message

As a primary stakeholder for our in-cafe brand & product activations, you are contributing to set a high standard for Capital One, creating engaging experiences for our community

Lead external and internal creative agencies during the design phase through the review of design proposals in 2D and 3D, and timely provide feedback to keep the project on schedule

Track budgets and project expenses for each campaign to which you are assigned, while identifying ways to make the execution of each campaign more efficient

Responsible to build frameworks and develop guidelines for high quality visual merchandising activations in the cafe network, including how to scale activations across diverse physical environment and footprints which exist in our cafe network

Create visually compelling and clear presentation decks to convey our design concepts to internal stakeholders and external partners

Maintain a test & learn attitude

Partner with the Retail Design team to assess, evolve and redefine the customer journey to make sure that product messaging is part of the "natural flow" of our customer journey

Build and maintain cross-functional collaborations with Product Marketing, Brand Enterprise, and In-Person Experience partners to ensure that the Product Messaging is brought to life through a cohesive story

Ability to efficiently drive multiple projects and bodies of work at the same time

Identify opportunities for signage to improve the messaging of our product and support the customer journey

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or military experience

At least 5 years of home-office experience in visual merchandising within a retail organization

At least 1 year of experience with Adobe Suite and interpreting 3D drawings
