Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM – 5:00:00 PM)
Summary:
In conjunction with course directors and the Director of Generalist Education, the Peer Tutor is responsible for one-on-one instruction of pre-licensure students to understand course content, improve problem-solving abilities, and refine test-taking skills, as well as assisting other learning needs as identified by students and/or faculty. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a College of Nursing pre-licensure program.
- Recommendation of course faculty.
- Performed at a B’ or better for the course they will tutor.
Responsibilities:
1. Participate in an orientation program to Peer Tutoring provided by the College of Nursing.
2. Assess learning needs of tutee(s).
3. Initiate learning sessions with the assigned tutees.
4. Collaboratively plan and implement learning sessions with assigned tutee(s).
5. Provide two to four hours of tutelage per week.
6. Communicate to the Director of Generalist Education the progress and learning plan for the assigned tutees.
7. Participate in the evaluation of the Peer Tutor program.
8. Complete other assignments as designated by the Director of Generalist Education or their designee.
