Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor. The maintenance supervisor will be responsible for the leadership of the Maintenance Technicians in their respective workshop. They must organize their daily work, give them first level support for all problems they have. The Maintenance Supervisor is the direct disciplinary superior to the Maintenance Technicians. They are responsible that all needed tools and materials are on site. They ensures job safety for his employees. This role is located in Wheeling, IL and will be fully on-site.
Starting Pay: $42-48 per hour
Schedule: M-F 6am-2pm with overtime as needed
Responsibilities
Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:
Plans, priorities, assigns, supervises, reviews and participates in all tasks related to facility maintenance
First level support of Maintenance Technicians with regards to equipment issues
Controls inventory and stock levels of spare parts
Liaises with external vendors to ensure good equipment condition and machine uptime
Ensures that needed tools and equipment are available for Maintenance Technicians to carry out their work
Carries out all the jobs according to applicable standards, like OSHA, ANSI.
Keeps personal workspace clean and tidy at all times
Reports any suspicious activity or strangers on company property
Maintains a safe work environment
Reports all incidents immediately (including near miss situations)
Complies with all environmental standards and policies
Develops methods and schedules for facility maintenance
Responsible for handling emergency situations or after-hours calls for repair and maintenance
Takes part in developing maintenance policies and standards for the maintenance team
Coordinates training sessions in facility maintenance, safety procedures and methods
Plans daily tasks and delegates them to Maintenance Technicians and other professionals
Maintains preventative maintenance standards for the organization's facilities and equipment
Routinely inspects various elements of buildings and grounds like elevators, fire alarms, security cameras and sprinkler systems
Demonstrates strong leadership skills to perform, delegate and correct duties and responsibilities
Maintenance Supervisor Qualifications:
A High school diploma is beneficial
Previous experience in industrial maintenance needed
Good mechanical skills, basic hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge needed
Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical schematics and drawings
Basic understanding of industrial electric control systems and PLC
Previous experience with variable speed drives is an added advantage
Previous experience in heavy metals or similar type of manufacturing is beneficial
Ability to work under pressure and high stress levels required
Ability to identify issues and decides on required actions
Competence to plan maintenance schedules
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and delegation skills
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Competency with computer and Microsoft Office Suite
Critical thinking skills
Dexterity and physical stamina
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Involves periods of, standing, walking, and negotiating stairs, ladders, elevated catwalks and platforms in hot or cold production environment on slippery surfaces for the purpose of directing operations and evaluating situations.
Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., safety glasses, electrostatic discharge jacket, ear plugs, etc.)
Occasionally lift up to 50lbs maximum.
