Description
JCFS is looking for talented and engaging individuals to provide supports to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in their home and community. This is a part time weekend position working Sunday-Friday (5p-9p).
JCFS Chicago provides vital, individualized, results-driven, therapeutic and supportive services for thousands of children, adults and families of all backgrounds each year, facing challenges with life transitions, mental health, developmental/intellectual disability and basic human need.
JCFS is looking for talented and engaging individuals to provide supports to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in their home and community.
This position pays $17.50 hourly rate with increases based on proven relatable experience.
Requirements:
18 years of age
Technological skills
Must be able to pass the S-TOFHLA (literacy test)
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience in the Human Services Field
Must be able to work weekends
Preferred: Experience supporting individuals with Autism
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Facilitate supports focusing on personal outcomes and independence
Support individuals in identifying community resources
Facilitate social experiences
Promote health and safety
Administer medication and follow through on procedures under RN and Rule 116 guidance
Facilitate medical appointments
Facilitate budgeting, shopping and cooking
Promote a well maintained home
Facilitate basic home maintenance and furniture set up and assembly
Take lead on ensuring a clean, sanitized and organized home
Facilitate transportation (public transportation)
Respond to crisis effectively
Collaborate with service providers, community members and families
Complete and maintain DSP required trainings and certificates
Complete required documentation in a timely manner
Attend and contribute to team meetings
