Job Description
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Consultant with our client in the financial industry located in Chicago, IL and Denver, CO. This is a 12+ month contract position.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for working with various enterprise level and local data management governance, data architecture, data engineering/development, and data quality teams
Contribute to efforts to capture and manage data dictionaries/catalogue, data lineage, and all forms of business, technical and operational metadata within the Metadata Repository
Support data use governance activities, adherence to Enterprise Data Management policies, and data quality issue tracking and resolution activities
Responsible for various governance routines and expected to setup and run meetings, communicate well both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, govern and ensure completion of
deliverables other stakeholders are assigned for enterprise adherence requirements, escalate issues to manager when needed, and help create new or improve existing data governance routines, processes, templates, etc.
Lead data governance guidance and support efforts for business process and control owners
Ability to understand business processes, risks, and controls and how to use data governance practices to ensure compliance to Enterprise Data Management policies
Provide data governance and management support of critical data use in metrics and reporting
Understand and support application owners adherence with global records management policy
Work closely with data owners in the identification and documentation of business and technical metadata
Ensure quality and integrity of metadata
Identify data quality or policy adherence issues and escalate accordingly
Manage data incidents through to remediation
Creating/designing Visio diagrams and process flows
Requirements:
10+ years in roles that demand critical thinking and problem solving
5+ years' experience in roles requiring strong technical and analytical skills (not developer roles)
5+ years' experience in data governance and/or metadata management
5+ years professional experience
Proven experience in pro-actively managing processes, routines, and deliverables (even with deliverables assigned to others)
Able to work independently on initiatives with little oversight
Motivated and willing to learn and be self-driven to ramp up and learn what is needed for the role
Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills are needed to gain cooperation from various stakeholders
Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and dive into details without having to be told to
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Pay Range: $49.86-$57.86
