Job Description
DescriptionThe University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Transplant in the Biological Sciences Division is searching for a Research Associate Professor. The primary focus will be academic research in collaboration with faculty members and other researchers. The appointee will serve as the principal research scientist for the organ perfusion laboratory at the University of Chicago. The appointee will lead research projects developing innovative solutions aimed at improving the viability of marginal organs prior to transplantation.
Prior to the start of employment, applicants must 1) have a doctoral degree or equivalent in Biological or Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines and 2) have completed postdoctoral training.
We especially welcome applicants with expertise in ex vivo lung perfusion, artificial organ, and mechanical ventilator research in the field of transplantation. Publication record and ability to obtain extramural grants will be considered.
