Job Description
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree and progressive work-related experience in radiological/biomedical field in or through a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management.
Knowledge of design and construction procedures in a healthcare setting preferred.
Knowledge and experience in facilities management, maintenance and operations preferred.
The primary departmental contact of this position includes the Executive Director, senior leadership, and indirectly with additional area specific Clinical Operations Directors to develop direction and focus. In addition, the candidate maintains routine contact with all levels of staff for the purpose of information gathering and sharing, coordination, and assistance with accomplishing assigned tasks. Although the candidate does not maintain standing membership on Hospital committees, s(he) does attend meetings of these committees which the Executive Leadership may deem necessary and must exhibit good communication and facilitation skills in the performance of these duties.

Essential Job Functions:

Manages all pre-construction related activities of Medical Imaging projects developed by outside consultants, and on internally developed projects, all as assigned by the Executive Director.

Ensures required preventative maintenance and vendor upgrades are completed in a timely manner.

Acts as liaison between the physics division and vendors to rectify areas of concern.

Assists the Executive Director and HTM with managing equipment inventory and associated space renovations.

Provides technical review of design by consultants during all phases of design to ensure conformance with Medical Center, City, State and all other regulatory agency requirements.

Solicits, evaluates, and summarizes proposals, and recommends appropriate contractors, consultants, vendors and manufacturers for specific task or project services.

Responsible for working with equipment vendors during the pre-construction renovation phase and assisting to develop preliminary budgets, obtain value engendered plans, assist with site meetings, conduct bid review and develop site specifications.

Meets with Department Managers at project site to evaluate scope of work; assist in preparing budget outline; Identify allowance items and assign dollar value; Propose creative solutions for floor plan and elevations, etc.

Facilitates cross functional relationships with key stakeholders to align goals, strategy, and deliverables.

Participates in the planning and programming process on projects as assigned by the Executive Director. Develops budgets and detailed estimates internally, or by utilizing outside consultants for projects.

Develops schedules of all phases of design, construction, and certification steps and phases internally, or by utilizing outside consultants for projects as assigned.

Administers the construction phase of projects by initiating and expediting all contracts andpurchase orders, overseeing all related activities of the architect, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and users, and monitoring the budget and schedule to ensure meeting the Project goals.

Maintain and report in a timely manner to the Executive Director, utilizing the Project Management System all project activities, schedules, budgets and other items and activities as requested.

Administers the process for obtaining all internal, state, and local Project Reporting Reviews, permits and inspections required by and relating to OSHA, ADA, JCAHO, EOC, ILSM, IDPH and City of Chicago agencies and regulatory requirements. Maintains all documentation regarding these requirements and assures that all requirements are addressed and met in a timely manner. Establishes practices, policies, and partnerships to effectively carry out functions.
