Quality Control Technician

The Quality Control Technician/ Calibration will perform a variety of Quality Assurance and Control Measurements, Inspections & Tests at the component and assembly levels. These activities will be conducted during the following stages of manufacturing: Receiving Inspection, Work-in-Process, First Article, Assembly / Test, Warehouse Stock Sweeps, Customer Returns, etc. These activities and others are to ensure compliance with Design, Company, Regulatory, Reliability and Quality Standards.

  • Demonstrated proficiency & experience using Inspection, Measuring & Test Equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Optical Comparator, Coordinate Measuring Machine, functional gauges, etc.) and completing official reports, database entries, etc.
  • Practical experience in Blueprint reading, component configuration, understanding views, feature dimensions, finding tolerance allowances and determining total tolerance bands.
  • Solid math, written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills, previous experience with statistics a plus. Basic to intermediate computer skills required (MS Office), ERP System, etc.
  • Problem solving: Identify the root cause of problems using systematic, logical steps, through research of multiple alternatives. Applies judgment based on precedence, experience and with consistency.
  • Identify and support Production Quality Processes and Procedures to decrease variation, increase throughput and eliminate customer dissatisfaction.
  • Respond to production floor calls: Applies good working knowledge of gages, interact with operators, supervisors, managers, planners, and engineers to quickly resolve issues as they arise.
  • MRB: Assist with moving product through MRB and working with Materials, Engrg, Ops, and Quality to obtain disposition of nonconforming product.
  • Receive, evaluate, and process customer returned goods (RGA, RMA, and Customer Complaints).
  • Conduct quality, process, gage, etc. audits, documenting processes and issues.
  • Keeping current on Quality Systems and Corrective Action principles.
Required Skills:
  • Required Experience: 3 years progressive work related manufacturing/industrial experience with demonstrated proficiency in the discipline/technology/process related to the position.

Required Education:
  • Minimum - High School diploma or equivalent
  • Desirable - Associates degree or Technical Institute degree/certificate or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
