Professional Tennis Instructor – Director of Junior Tennis at Racquet Club of Lake Bluff, LLC
Job Location: 945 N Shore Drive, Lake Bluff, IL 60044
Job Duties:
- Manage all operations of the junior program.
- Direct, plan, and organize tennis practice sessions for junior players of all level (from USTA tournament players to Varsity High School or Junior Varsity High School levels as well as mini-tennis (from 4 to 18 years old).
- Recruit prospective junior professional tennis players to join the coaching program.
- Lead tennis activities, classes, practice sessions, and drills for the junior program.
- Develop and implement tennis practice curriculum and programs for junior players.
- Instruct and advise individuals or groups on tennis rules, game strategies, and performance principles.
- Provide training direction, motivation, and nutritional advice to prepare players for games and competitive events.
- Evaluate players’ skills technically, physically, and tactically using self-created evaluations and tests for training and progress tracking.
- Adjust coaching techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of junior players.
- Assist in coordinating sports-related activities, such as training camps and pre-season try-outs.
- Assist with equipment setup and teardown and maintain a monthly inventory of supplies.
- Liaise with other tennis instructors to ensure consistent practices and training within the club.
- Coordinate logistics for tournaments and accompany players to events.
- Maintain records and documents related to player evaluations and progress.
- Promote the facility and its amenities to potential members when applicable.
Requirements:
Education: Two-years of post-secondary education.
Experience: 3 years of professional tennis coaching experience.
Qualifying experience must include 3 years in each of the following:
- Conducting tennis practice sessions classes and drills.
- Demonstrating specific ways of body movement for tennis.
- Instructing and advising individuals and groups on tennis rules, strategies and performance.
- Developing and implementing tennis practice curriculum and programs for tennis players and future instructors.
- Providing training direction and nutritional advice to prepare players for tennis matches and competitive events.
- Evaluating player skills technically, physically and tactically and adjusting coaching techniques for performance improvement.
- Monitoring players’ safe use of equipment.
- Communicating and adjusting goals with the players.
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 per year
