Job Description

The Planning Manager plays an important role within the production planning department, leveraging extensive experience and an understanding of business needs to take on large project/process improvement efforts spanning multiple production planning groups and product lines. The Planning Manager takes on challenging investigative tasks, iniatives to improve our planning data across all product lines and serves as a resource for all production planning teams. They are a subject matter expert within Oracle ERP and provide guidance to planning leaders and perform various critical planning tasks that benefit all product lines
Essential Functions:
Lead process improvements and support planning efforts on mission critical product lines
Execute projects to indentify gaps in S&C's planning and production data, take actions to close those gaps
Indentify oppurtunities in S&C's processes around inventory control and accuracy and support logisitcs teams in rolling out changes and improvements
Act as liason between all production planning managers and IT teams on various iniatives to modernize access to operational data and systems
Lead efforts to develop clear to build visibility for production lines leveraging experience and knowledge in both planning and production operations
Leverage combination of Oracle ERP experience and use of modern data tools to rapidly deploy solutions to audit and improve production planning processes
Act as production planning subject matter expert in Oracle ERP to provide recommendations and solutions for best practices
Generate and issue reports, both ad hoc and regular schedules. Provide recommendations to leadership data presented in reports.
Support transition and implentation of improved cloud based ERP tools
Collaborate closely with production planning leaders to solict input on cross-product line planning improvements and implement solutions
Execute various production planning standard work tasks spanning multiple product lines
Champion use of latest and greatest data and analytics tools to improve productivity across planning teams
Mentor and coach production planners, providing guidance and support in navigating complex production scenarios and honing their skills.
Support projects, such as A3 problem-solving efforts, as assigned by department leadership.
Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
Education & Minimum Qualifications:
Required
Associate's degree in Business, Logistics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
Required
8-12 years of demonstrated experience in production planning within a manufacturing or related environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, adjusting communication approaches based on the audience.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to complete activities with accuracy.
Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills and an ability to identify potential issues and seek support for resolution.
Ability to work in manufacturing and assembly environments.
Good coaching skills with the ability to train and mentor junior team members.
Subject matter expert in utilizing Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems for production planning purposes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint. Must be able to manipulate data and analyze reports using both Power BI and Excel.
Preferred
Experience working with Oracle ERP.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting - Continuously required to remain in a stationary position and perform desk-based tasks for hours at a time.
Walking - Occasionally required to walk moderate distances.
Lifting - Occasionally required to solo lift supplies weighing from 5 to 20 pounds and some operation of hand carts.
Observation / Eyesight - Frequently required to observe details at close range including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors.
Communication - Continuously required to talk and hear or otherwise, in person and by phone/conference calls.
Travel - Infrequently required to travel and work extended hours when necessary.
