Job Description

Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, is seeking aMaterial Handler! This role is responsible for performing all duties related to the mixing and loading of liquid products onto tanker trucks for customer deliveries. Additionally, the role is responsible for handling, using a forklift, execution of SAP keying and inventory system transactions, moving, spotting, washing and loading tanker trucks.

What You Will Do:
Maintain a clean and dry, organized, and safe work area at all times.
Operate controls to transfer batches into tanker truck compartments.
Obtain samples for quality tests in the laboratory. Follow lab instructions for batch corrections if needed.
Connect hoses to correct pipelines in order to transfer material to the correct tank or trailer compartment.
Follow the Walk-the-Line process to check for leaks and misdirected flow of product.
Perform receiving tasks in an accurate and timely manner so that no demurrage is incurred. Wash bulk trucks as necessary. Read and interpret carrier and Ecolab bills of lading as required to perform daily job assignments. Accurately complete all required paperwork.
Follow safety procedures/regulations, wear required personal protective equipment at all times, and keep work area clean at all times per SOP's.
Understand and follow appropriate regulations (DOT, HazMat, FDA, etc.) pertaining to the storage and shipment of chemical products. Ensure that each tanker is properly placard once loaded.
Operate computer batching system per level of training. Operate truck mounted/hand-held computer terminals and scanners as required per SOP's.
Complete Ottawa training and be able to spot tankers into the bulk bay for the purpose of loading and washing out the tankers.
Assemble load packages to give to the drivers and record seals as they are placed on the tanker.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Details:
Plant location: Clearing, IL
Work week and shift: Mon - Fri 8:00AM to 4:30PM

Minimum Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent
Previous chemical manufacturing experience
No immigration sponsorship offered for this role

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to read and follow instructions and documents in English
Abilit to pass a forklift driver skills test
Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations such as multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, percentages, and averages.
Ability to visually interpret dials, gauges, and switches
Previous experience in a related industry is preferred (chemicals, food products, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
