POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Statistician
LOCATION/DEPT: DHQ/Programs
REPORTS TO (TITLE): Divisional Secretary for Program
FLSA CATEGORY: Non-Exempt
STATUS TYPE: RFT

DEPARTMENT MISSION
To assist in accomplishing the mission of The Salvation Army through providing administrative support to the Divisional Secretary for Program.

OUTCOMES
Administrative support will be provided to accurately track information for the North and Central Illinois Division and results in a data-base(s) for the Program Department. As a result, data will be maintained in an effective manner and available as needed. This will include producing and distributing reports, memos, and other correspondence, effective management of filing and storage (manual and electronic), and training in use of the statistical programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Statistics
Gather & process all statistical information within the division, review and forward to THQ by monthly due date.
Generate correspondence pertaining to statistics.
Travel to corps and give on-site training of the statistical program.
Provide statistical information as requested by other departments.
Prepare Monthly Divisional/Corps Heath Summary Reports
Prepare and distribute monthly statistical print-outs, Month to Month comparisons.
Prepare quarterly Unit Summary's for year-to-date comparisons.
Prepare year end highlights for each unit for PR and Grant writing purposes.
Prepare Corps Volume of Responsibility as required by THQ.
STEPs Review
Gather & process STEPs data for Review.
Provide Monthly Divisional/Corps Heath Summary Reports.
Memberships
Process Local Officer's bonds, warrants, maintain local officer's memberships.
Maintain Corps Membership Lists for yearly review: Corps Council, Adherent, Recruit, Jr Soldiers, Sr Soldiers, and music forces.
Maintain Corps Consultation books and prepare information for Corps Reviews.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with preparation and registration for Family Retreat, Men's Camp and other events.
Provide event support at Divisional Events.
All other duties as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Divisional Program Secretary.
In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.
This position will also relate to and interact with a wide range of contacts including the Divisional Secretary for Program, Divisional Music Department, Divisional Statistician, Divisional Production Team, Divisional Safe From Harm Director, all corps officers, institution officers, other divisional staff and employees, and the general public when they are directed to the Program Department.

PERFORMANCE MEASURMENTS
This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved; as well as the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, with administrative training or certificate preferred.
2 years of experience in an administrative position.
Valid driver's license/MVR clearance
COMPENTENCIES:
Willing to promote the mission of The Salvation Army
Computer literate including proficiency in the use of Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheet.
Possess an aptitude in both written and oral communication, with the ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling and grammar.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.
Well organized, detail oriented and efficient in working with information.
Able to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
An ability to work with confidential material.
POSITION LIMITATIONS
This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
This individual will keep the Divisional Secretary for Program and informed on all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.
This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.
