Position Title: Color Lab Technician

Job Location: Milan, IL


Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $22.00 - $22.00 Hourly

Job Shift: 2nd Shift

Job Category: Warehouse

Description:

The Color Lab Technician will be responsible for formulating custom colors for silicone filling production lines using advanced equipment. They will also be responsible for various tests to ensure the correct colors and quality of product as well as compliance with our customer requirements and quality processes.

Primary Tasks:

  • Match in-process samples with standard colors to determine color accuracy within production
  • Operate various pieces of lab equipment and tools to obtain various testing results that are utilized for compliance with customer requirements.
  • Recording of testing results in our system.
  • Communicate results and other information with the lab team and production in a timely manner.
  • Use customer custom color standards to determine pigment formula which will be used in creating custom-colored silicones for production based on customer requirements.
  • Maintain samples for specified time period deriving from customer requirements.

Secondary Tasks:

  • Providing support for internal and external audit teams
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work area
  • Finding and supporting opportunities for improved performance, cost-savings and efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. (Associate degree in chemistry or lab-based sciences preferred)

Skills:

  • Flexibility in daily hours worked based on workloads
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain and safely utilize various pieces of lab equipment
  • Ability to follow work instructions and procedures
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, stressful environment
  • Ability to work with and meet deadlines

Experience:

  • Related previous lab experience or training
