Here's what you can expect as an Infection Preventionist Manager at DaVita:

The Infection Preventionist (IP) oversees all WipeOut-related activities, inclusive of surveillance, prevention, response and management for his/her operating group. Project WipeOut Infections (aka "WipeOut") is one of DaVita's "top four" clinical programs, aimed at reducing mortality and hospitalizations among dialysis patients while promoting patient safety.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Being a subject-matter expert for all things infection related including specific organisms.

Leading multi-state level oversight for infection prevention

Ensuring proper policies and procedures are being followed related to infection safety

Liaison with local health departments

Requirements:

A.D.N degree from accredited school of nursing required; B.S.N preferred

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice preferred

Ability to travel up to 20% depending on business needs in assigned territory

Critical thinking and analytical skills with a keen attention to details.

Demonstrates a proactive approach in identifying and addressing issues and concerns.

Strong prioritization and time management skills are required.

Ability to interact effectively with all levels of healthcare personnel in this and other healthcare facilities; public health services at the local, state, and national levels; and the Centers for Disease Control and prevention.

Must have ability to creatively and effectively solve complex problems and manage crises.

Independent judgment and analytical ability to problem solve, make decisions, formulate reports, perform statistical analysis and interpret data is strongly preferred

Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal skills and superior organizational/planning skills is required

Advanced computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat) is required

Strong collaboration and team building skills

Ability to work with minimal direction independently and as a member of a team.

Ability to obtain CIC-Certification in Infection Control within 1 year of hire
