Role description:

As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will play a crucial role in working with a Senior Resident Engineer overseeing construction projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, adhere to specifications, and stay within budget and timeline constraints.

Role accountabilities:

  • Responsible for assuring all submittals, schedules, insurance, and other contract requirements are submitted and approved by the responsible stakeholders.
  • Chair meetings with contractors, facility personnel, design consultants and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes
  • Verify that the required material inspection and testing is performed and documented
  • Responsible for maintaining/cataloging inspection records, photos and shop drawings
  • Generate correspondence between the owner and the General Contractor
  • Monitor contractor' progress against approved construction schedule
  • Review and process change orders
  • Review and approve contractor pay applications
  • Ensure manuals and booklets required by contract documents are collected from the contractor
  • Assist with final project close-out
  • Gather documents, reports, photos, from CM field staff and prepare for official submission.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Preferably we're looking for an EIT with a strong ambition to become a PE. Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in engineering and show dedication to gaining the required experience for licensure.
  • Minimum of 3 or more years' experience in construction management, with a focus on transit and rail projects.
  • Proven experience with construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Bluebeam Revu)
