Major Gifts Manager, EEH Foundation

The Major Gifts Manager is responsible for cultivating relationships with major donors and prospective major donors and generating philanthropic gifts for the Foundation. This position reports to the Foundation Executive Director and works closely with the Foundation Board of Trustees and appropriate committees as assigned.

Location: Naperville, IL

Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Hours: Monday-Friday, during normal business hours

Required Travel: travel throughout the area may be required

What you will do:

Assists in developing major gift strategies based on Foundation annual fundraising goals and maintains accountability for their timely execution.

Works closely with the development team to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward restricted and unrestricted major gifts - working a robust moves management program

Executes timely and effective cultivation and solicitation activity to secure major and planned gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations - with a strong focus on face-to-face interactions.

Identifies and initiates contact with new potential major gift donors.

Develops, coordinates, and oversees appropriate cultivation and solicitation strategies with assigned teams, serving as primary liaison for prospects and solicitors.

Records accurate and current documentation on all touches and moves for assigned prospects and donors in the Foundation's donor database.

Drafts prospect profiles, proposals, request scripts, gifts agreements, and other materials as needed.

Coordinates outreach related to Foundation philanthropic initiatives.

Maintains professional client/employee/vendor relationships with a strong commitment to client service.

What you will need:

Education: Bachelor's degree, required

Experience:

5+ Years of progressive experience in major gift fundraising And

1 Year Capital/endowment campaign

Working knowledge of Blended Gifts; including planned giving options

Unique or Preferred Skills:

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to create, implement and monitor complex annual and special project fundraising plans

Demonstrated capacity to develop and nurture relationships culminating in major gift fundraising success

Energetic and persistent approach in implementing fundraising strategies

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills

Advanced proficiency with Raiser's Edge fundraising software
