Job Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist is the primary individual responsible for entering check requests and vouchers. Also responsible for assisting the General/Operating/Trust Accountant with accurate and timely maintenance and processing of accounts, certain bank reconciliations, journal entries, or other duties as required.

Essential Functions:
Process accounts payable including review and processing of invoices and check requests, printing checks, and posting check run data, ensuring data accuracy
Maintain bank check register and notify management of cash requirements
Process and print Intercompany/Trade Central invoices
Review and monitor Intercompany statements
Monitor vendor statements and follow-up on open items
Assist with preparing account analysis for several accounts
Complete General/Operating/Trust Fund research
Assist with report production and distribution including Trade Central reports
Review new vendor input and manage vendor list for accuracy
Assist with the quarterly reconciliation of 1099 vendors and assist in annual filing
Assist in monthly account reconciliations
Assist in Mailroom, as needed
Stamp in invoices received for processing
Prepare and enter journal entries as needed
Assist with A/R summary reports
Process monthly mortgage invoices
Process/Backup check request input
Other data entry duties as assigned
Education:
Associate's Degree in general business from an accredited college or university
Experience:
2 years' experience preferred in related field
OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Skills:
Ability to speak read and write English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries and customers; and to perform the requirements of this job

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a typical office environment. Full-time position may require some weekend and evening work and travel.
