Position: Pathologist Assistant
Location: Chicago, IL
Full Time
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30pm, rotating weekends at Evanston Hospital
Required Travel: Yes
What you will need:
Degree(s) Required: Masters Degree from an accredited Pathologists' Assistant program.
One to three years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Ability to work with information/electronic communication systems technology and required equipment as it applies to meeting and improving departmental and job related needs.
Registered/certified by the American Association of Pathologists' Assistants or the College of American Pathologists in Pathologists' Assistance.

JOB SUMMARY:Under the general supervision of the Pathologists, independently performs or assists in the professional duties of accessioning, dissection, description and histologic sampling of a full range of tissue and surgical specimens and autopsy studies. Ensures the quality and services provided in the "Gross Room". Maintains the section in compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Is an active member of the Department of Laboratory and Pathology Medicine and supports their goals and objectives.
