Job Description
Shift: Monday - Friday / 8:00am - 4:30pm

General Summary of Position Responsibility:

Provides analytical and consulting support for the functional areas under the Transplant Center. Coordinates the workflow activities within the Transplant Center, including ensuring data integrity across the Transplant Center. Gathers, analyzes and reports the statistical information, patient outcomes and financial performance to both internal and external customers. Makes recommendations for the implementation of technology required to support the goals of the Transplant Center.

Essential Job Functions:

Designs, implements and evaluates the quality assurance related to transplant database and statistical outcomes for Transplant Center. Monitors and assesses the data integrity on an ongoing basis and coordinates the work of all data entry and systems personnel within the transplant center.
Communicates the results of all quality monitoring to medical and administrative leadership and makes recommendations to improve the workflow in these areas. Implements workflow improvements and monitoring their effectiveness.
Completes impromptu data requests by internal and external customers when special data needs are required of the Transplant Center.
Collaborates with the Director of Solid Organ Transplant to prioritize ongoing projects and ad hoc data requests.
Assists the managed care contractor with negotiations within the Transplant Center by completing all requests for data required by insurers, including but not limited to, information required for annual "requests for Information".
Provides financial analyses of contract performance to the Director of Solid Organ Transplant, the Stem Cell Business Manager and the managed care contractor as needed.
Develops and maintains databases to track and support managed care activities.
Supports requests for all external regulatory agencies and accrediting entities, such as the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) and the International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry (IBMTR). Validates and approves all reports regarding Lurie Children's that these organizations publish.
Supports the data needs of the Director of Solid Organ Transplant, Director of Stem Cell Transplant, Managed Care Contractor, Financial Counselor and Medical Directors by developing and providing hard-copy reports and machine-readable data on and ongoing basis.
Identifies financial and clinical indicators for each of the programs in the Transplant Center and distributes indicator reports on a monthly basis. Performs financial analyses of the Transplant Center on an annual basis.
Coordinates the implementation of the Transplant Center Database (OTTR), and the facilitation of training for end users within each transplant program.
Creates processes to ensure accurate flow of data within the Transplant Center for the clinicians.
Develops and implements research and consulting projects on behalf of the Transplant Center.
Serves as the mentor and resource for all team members within the Siragusa Transplant Center related to computer applications and programs.
Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
Previous experience in information technology/project management.
Must be able to work effectively with cross-functional groups and participate in problem solving processes.
Must be self-motivated with a strong initiative to learn.
Must be able to work on and prioritize many varied projects at one time.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, statistical software such as SPSS and is familiar with HBOC-based hospital systems such as EPIC, EPSI, OTTR, CHIPS and Trendstar. Must be familiar with Crystal Reporting.
