Description:

The Program Assistant will provide support to the Co-Directors of Undergraduate Studies, the Director of Graduate Studies, and the Director of Graduate Admissions. This position will act as the point of contact for the DUGS and DGS offices. Duties including managing daily operations of the DUGS and DGS offices, tracking and analyzing department program data, planning/coordinating events and activities for related programs, and assisting DUGS and DGS in projects and reports.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage scheduling, event and meeting calendar for the DUGS office.
Monitor and prioritize incoming and outgoing communications on DUGS listserv and individual email accounts by routing, and/or responding and determining the appropriate recipients for outgoing communications
Analyze undergraduate student data and program paperwork, handle data requests and special analyses, and provide reports to DUGS
Manage updates to relevant curriculum information posted to department and university websites
Assist in data management and data analysis duties including cleaning and merging application datasets, generating queries in SLATES system to extract information for admission decision making
Act as the liaison between DGS and Graduate Student Organizations; organize events including Graduate Student Orientation, PhD student Graduation luncheon etc.
Analyze graduate student data, handle data requests and special analyses, and provide reports to DGS
Manage and update department course and curriculum web content
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree.
Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.

Additional education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization:

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 2 years of work experience as an administrative assistant or similar role.
Facility with basic Internet and Knowledge Base research.
Ability to proactively identify process improvements and opportunities to offload tasks from supervisor.
