The Job at a Glance
As our Hazardous Material Team Lead (internally known as Team Lead, OEM Chemical Master), you will help with problem solving and oversee the distribution of hazardous material from our Mitchell Ct. Distribution Center. As the Team Lead, you'll further your career development by improving processes and leadingour hazardous material team of Chemical Apprentices!

A Typical Day
Assist supervisors with workflow management and team member training on how to ship Hazardous Materials.
Ensure safety, quality, housekeeping, proper storageand productivity expectations are communicated internally.
Meticulously pack and ship outgoing hazard shipments to ensure they are delivered to customers safely and identify any damaged packages or parts.
Work across multiple platforms including:expanded High Jump, Fed Ex ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, Priority 1, Trifecta, Chemtrec
Research and provide guidance to solve daily transactional problems
Direct planning on classifications of new hazardous material.
You will operate forklift to maneuver skids and load trucks and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Providing timely shipping rate quotes and order updates to Customer Service team, scheduling freight carrier pickups and preparing proper hazardous shipping documents.
Provide call-in coverage as needed by becoming highly cross-trained in most DC operations, provide leadership for all Hazardous Material team members
To Land This Opportunity
You have a UPS Hazardous Material Trained certification (for handling & shipping) or are able and willing to be trained.
You are forklift certified or able and willing to be forklift certified.
You are knowledgeable on the SDS for each hazardous item and fully understand the CFR 49 Regulation manual, including directions to ship out hazardous packages in compliance with DOT.
You are comfortable being responsible for cleaning up spills and disposing of hazardous materials in a responsible and timely manner.
You are fluent in English and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You're confident using a computer and navigating programs such as MS Word & Outlook.
