Title: IT Project Manager Location: Waukegan, IL

Duration: 5 months with the possibility for extensions  

Years Experience: 5+ years IT experience using a standard IT methodology, with a minimum of 5 years in a project leadership role, performing project planning and implementation  

Skills: Proven experience managing projects and leading cross-functional teams;proven experience managing; and being accountable for several medium and small projects at a given time;self-motivated with excellent planning, interpersonal and organizational skills;experience with MS Project, Excel, Word and Visio; experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred; ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment; ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment; ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects; strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization; multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner; strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.  

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (Required ) in Business, Computer Science or related field; experience with healthcare applications is a plus

  Duties:

  • The Project Manager has overall accountability and responsibility to plan and manage the resources and processes used to develop and implement strategic and tactical application and infrastructure projects.
  • The Project Manager is involved in the management of all task activities and staff assigned to the project.
  • The position requires solid initiation, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to create an effective team environment.
  • Plan and manage execution of IT projects: initial project investigations; requirements definition; scope definition and management; schedule and tasks; issues management; quality and budget; risk analysis and management; contingency planning; change management; overall project control and coordination; monitor and report of project status; manage project teams, manage relationships, execute and improve IT processes; complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Seeking an experienced Project Manager with experience in new tool implementation and experience with driving the validation of data - to ensure the reports they desire out of the tool are accurate.
  • This role will focus on assisting the Sr. IT Project Manager during the full Project Life Cycle from Initiation through Closure Phases.

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • To assist the Senior Project Manager. This can any number of tasks such as to perform clerical duties, maintain contact with clients and parties involves through email and phone calls, answer questions and concerns, prepare presentations, and enterproject data.
  • Develop/Update concrete, detailed plans for a project, including the schedule and outlining the duties of each team members.
  • Collaborate with various teams and hold meetings to develop project plans.
  • It is important that the Project Manager closely monitors each project workstream he or she manages to ensure that projects remain on track, meet deadlines, stay under budget, and develop according to plan and the project objectives are met.
  • Once a project is complete, the Project Manager, in conjunction with the Senior Project Manager, is responsible for gathering and documenting all project results and then reporting or presenting them to the appropriate parties.

  Qualifications:

  • Excellent computer skills specifically with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
  • Project management and leadership skills for managing projects and the teams involved with them.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management and explain technical issues.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to manage any issues that occur during the project life cycle.
  • Organization and time management skills to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Experience with specific project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Scrum, and Agile Project Management Professional Certification
  • Industry-specific experience, Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 5 years of Project management experience required.
  • Experience in implementation of tooling / automated equipment required.
  • This role will focus on assisting the Sr. IT Project Manager during the full Project Life Cycle from Initiation through Closure Phases.
  • Experience: 5 to 6 years as a Project Manager.
  • Top skills: Good communication, fast-paced environment, critical thinking, building relationships, time management excellent computer skills. (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio), Project Management Skills, Waterfall, Scrum,  Agile, Pioneered SDLC workflow and capabilities modeled with key work streams.
  • Medical Devices Industry experience- Will be a plus but not required
  • # of Years if required Experience: 3+ Years
