Hershey Salty Snacks is hiring a CDL Driver for our Kansas City locations. The primary responsibility of Truck Driver is to haul product between facilities within the Kansas City area. All drivers are required to hold a Class A driver's license and maintain a current DOT physical card. Daily timekeeping logs, load logs, DOT logs, pre- and post-trip inspections, and scale weight tickets are also the driver's responsibility. Drivers will require a forklift license, as well, to take part in unloading or loading the trailer when necessary. Driver will also need to have comfort in dropping or picking up empty trailers staged at the dock.
Shifts:
Two shifts available, Monday - Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm and 4 pm to 12:30 am.
Schedule assignment is determined by plant needs and confirmed during an interview.

Job Duties Include:
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage
Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
Serve as a resource of communication between facilities on materials that need to be transferred between locations and be able to make decisions on order of priority
Follow all DOT regulations with required stops and ensure all paperwork is kept up to date for compliance
Maintain a safe driving record with no product issues or deficiencies from dock to dock
Keep good log of paperwork on product being transferred from facility to facility
Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned
Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary
Obtain receipts or signatures for loaded and delivered goods
Climbing in to and exiting trucks multiple times throughout the day
Climbing stairs multiple times a day
Walking on uneven ground
Represent self and company in a professional and positive manner
Attend required company meetings and training and participate in constructive discussion
Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of Hersheys Salty Snacks
Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner

Requirements
Education - High school diploma or GED
Current Class A license
Current DOT physical card
Years of Experience - 1 year required; 5 years preferred
Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to navigate computer based warehouse management system
Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
