Job Description

Overview

Individual who act as the central point of communication among patients, partners and providers; responsible for providing front line activities to include registration, and overall support services to patients and guests. Operates multiline telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel by performing the following duties. May be asked to work flexible hours and overtime during peak periods. May be asked to flex hours/shift as needed to support the needs of the department. Performs applications on PACS (Radiology image storage system). Operates the radiology information systems. Review and print schedules. Assists with patient exams as requested by technologist, nurse and/or physician.

Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Customer Service experience required
Previous medical reception experience preferred.
Medical terminology preferred
Radiant/Cadence experience preferred

Certification and Licensure
CPR within 90 days

Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of keyboard skills and medical terminology preferred.
Good interpersonal & written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of Epic preferred.

This is considered heavy work due to Radiology Transport duties. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust. Manual dexterity needed to operate telephone and keyboard.

Some independent judgment is required, but alternatives are limited by standard practices or procedures.
