SCF Lewis and Clark L.L.C (a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Barge Company) is looking to hire a Terminal Manager at one of our Granite City, IL locations, where you will be responsible for managing a terminal business including financial performance, operational efficiency, and safety for all associates working at the facility. You will also ensure compliance with all safety, permits, government regulations, and company policies and procedures while also planning and implementing necessary changes that occur when operational or environmental tasks change while coordinating with internal and external service providers.
What you will be doing:
Ensures work performed at the terminal is performed in compliance with OSHA and other government regulations, company policies and procedures.
Working with the Director of Operations and Traffic Manager to schedule the safe and efficient handling of customer cargoes
Actively engage with the associates daily through visual, onsite management. Oversees all facility associates ensuring all work in the facility is being performed in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner
Participating in the training, development, and technical education of new associates
Managing financial performance including P/L, capital expenditures, and third-party contractors
On a monthly basis, oversees, maintains, and adjusts facility budget as necessary
Assigning work tasks as necessary based on company needs
Coordinating barge, rail and truck flow with the traffic department and customer service.
Coordinating maintenance requirements with the maintenance team and work to perform preventive maintenance during terminal downtime or slow periods
Communicating with the traffic department on barge, rail, truck issues.
Developing, maintaining, and providing operational feedback on both internal and external Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) across all modes of operation.
Assisting with Director of Operations with the conducting of quarterly and annual facility audits.Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of loading and unloading of barges, railcars, and trucks.
5+ years of experience required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Good Written and verbal communication skills
Leadership and development skills
Working in all kinds of weather conditions
On-Call
Minimal travel
Be able to lift, climb, and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.) Additional Information
