Progressive Critical Care Unit Transition Program Start Date 7/8/2024

Job Summary: The staff nurse has the primary responsibility and accountability for the total nursing care of the patients as identified by the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act.
The Progressive Critical Care RN Transition Program is designed for RNs with current BLS certification and a minimum of 1-year inpatient nursing experience who are interested in the progressive critical care department at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

Location: Elmhurst Hospital,155 E. Brush Hill Road,Elmhurst, Illinois

Hours: Full Time Night Shift Work 72 hours in a 2 week pay period. 7:00pm-7:00amRotate every 3rdweekend andHoliday rotations.

Orientation:Between 8-12 weeks, dependent on level of previous experience.
Day Shift: All orientation is completed on day shift. Additional classroom instruction/online module completion at the discretion of the PCCU Educator.
Night Shift: First 3-4 weeks orient on day shift, then transition to night shift. Additional classroom instruction/online module completion at the discretion of the PCCU Educator.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing Required Education, Skills and/or Experience: Associate Degree or higher in Nursing

If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
Current incumbents with an RN Diplomaare grandfathered
OR

RN Diploma Nurse if position start date is prior to September 1, 2021

Required License and/or Certification:

Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure

Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six months of start date into position
