Responsibilities

 

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Logistics Manager. The Manager, Logistics is responsible for driving continuous process improvement in Sysmex Americas' supply chain and ensuring that the logistics and distribution network is operating effectively and at the best value. This position works cross-functionally to develop and implement the Americas' SCM distribution and transportation strategy and tactics to continue Sysmex's leadership in operational performance and innovation while supporting market share growth and improving profitability. The Manager is responsible for managing the Sysmex Americas Logistics and Transportation Group, managing the relationships of all transportation carriers and logistics providers, vendor performance oversite, transportation cost optimization, distribution network, and process optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Identify and pursue strategic new processes and productivity improvement opportunities to increase operating profit, market share, and customer satisfaction. Develop the business cases and as requested, lead internal teams and external vendors to implement such strategic projects and technologies.
2. Responsible for management of all logistic carriers supporting the manufacture and distribution of products internationally and domestically, including but not limited to local transportation between sites, freight forwarders, brokerage services, white glove transportation, 3PL services, carrier invoicing and freight auditing, customer shipment tracking, freight claims, and return logistics. Ensure provider performance targets are achieved while building strategic partnerships to optimal performance for all parties.
3. Manage the Equipment and Transportation teams to ensure overall department performance, customer satisfaction, cost control, and alignment with strategic goals.
4. Primary owner of logistics-related cost of sales budgeting functions, including international freight, domestic freight, brokerage fees and duties, and SCM 3PL services. Responsible for budget creation, target setting, analysis and defending proposals to Finance and other controlling teams. Regularly analyze and report SCM and logistics costs and trends.
5. The Manager, Logistics works closely with Sysmex Latin America SCM team to coordinate regional supply chain strategy and the harmonization of SCM processes and controls across the Americas region. This position also collaborates with Sysmex Global SCM groups to define and achieve Sysmex Group strategic direction and strategies.
6. Responsible for overseeing import and export activities to ensure these are executed following best practices and collaborate with the compliance and legal teams to continuously improve to meet all compliance standards.
7. Monitor and enhance individual performance through clearly defined expectations, training, coaching, and counseling to achieve required results. Assess direct reports and team members' talent and provides feedback for career planning goals and development plans. Ensure associates are properly trained and have the skills needed. As a leader, responsible for coaching, training, and developing associates both informally and through formal training programs, providing both informal (e.g., on-floor coaching) and formal (e.g., written evaluation) job performance-based feedback.
8. Responsible for team that plans and processes CTPAT certification, Sanctioned Parties List management, Harmonized Tarriff Code and ECCN assignment, Freight forwarder/Carrier vendor management.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Travel Percentage: 5%
