Newsletter CRM Sr Manager

We are dedicated to delivering top-quality news content to our audience through our premium newsletter portfolio products across multiple verticals, including Yahoo News, Yahoo Lifestyle, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Finance, and more. We're on a mission to build a best-in-class community of engaged subscribers, and we're looking for a Newsletter CRM Sr Manager to play a pivotal role in achieving this goal.

Responsibilities:

Operationalization and Optimization

  • Accelerate Yahoo's ambitious growth and revenue plans by building new, large-scale solutions for our newsletter business.
  • Work closely with the Editorial and Product teams to operationalize and optimize newsletters, including content creation and distribution.
  • Collaborate with tools like Stensul and facilitate A/B tests using platforms such as Epsilon.



User Engagement

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase user engagement, retention, growth, and lifetime value.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to tailor content and campaigns to subscriber preferences.



Lifecycle Strategies

  • Collaborate with the Editorial and Product teams to develop comprehensive life-cycle strategies and customer journeys. This includes welcome, activation, retention, and reactivation campaigns to optimize subscriber engagement.



List Management

  • Evaluate and optimize the state of our email lists to ensure high deliverability, engagement, and list hygiene.
  • Implement best practices for list segmentation and management.



Knowledge Sharing

  • Share insights and best practices with the team based on your experience in the modern news media newsletter landscape.
  • Continuously stay updated on industry trends and competitor strategies.



A Lot About You:

As a Newsletter CRM Sr Manager, you will be an essential member of our team, responsible for developing and executing innovative CRM strategies to enhance our newsletter program's health, growth, and engagement. We're seeking a candidate with a deep understanding of the modern news media newsletter landscape, ideally from a media organization with a strong journalist-led newsletter program. If you are passionate about the modern news media newsletter landscape and have the expertise to shape the future of our newsletter program, we encourage you to apply.

  • 7+ years of experience in CRM, preferably in a media organization with a journalist-led newsletter program
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working with newsletter platforms (e.g., Beehiive)
  • Experience working with email and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Stensul, Zeta Marketing Platform (ZMP), Epsilon, Sailthru, Salesforce)
  • Experience with newsletter content creation and distribution
  • Familiarity with modern news media newsletter trends and the competitive landscape
