Your Role
As a Gensler Technical Designer, you will collaborate with our Practice Area Leaders and Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized2D/3Dmodels and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do
Collaborate on design projects in the critical facilities, life sciences, and healthcare practice areas, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and documentation
Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
Documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)
Assist in resolving complex technical and design issues
Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination
Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
Your Qualifications
3-6 years' experience designing multiple building typologies of varying scale
Experience in Critical Facilities projects (i.e. data centers, command and control centers, high-performance computing, etc.) healthcare projects, or similarly complex projects (i.e. science/labs/national labs, light-industrial/manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing, healthcare, aviation & transportation, etc.) preferred
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture required
Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development
