Description
ThePCS Account Specialistreflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for financial processes within Patient Care Services.
Ensures total charge capture.
Monitors documentation/charge trends.
Handles edit requests.
Documentation QA.
Assists care coordination with correction of patient type and accommodation codes.
Performs charge correction for observation patients.
Qualifications
Required:
2 years experience in a healthcare setting
Education: Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
Familiarity with edits, corrections for observation patients, EPIC and CarePort
Understanding of MediCare regulations and accounts
Knowledge of complexity of payors
Past experience in hospital billing
