Position: Maintenance Manager I
Primary Location: East St.Louis, IL
Shift: Salaried - Monday to Friday - 40 hours/week; Overtime needed as per business needs and training objectives.
Reports to: Plant Manager
Compensation: $105,000 - $120,000 + Benefits
The US salary for this position is $105,000 - $120,000 + benefits. Salaried rates are determined by role, level, and location. The salaried rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. About this Role and About You
The maintenance manager is the leader of the maintenance department. This person is responsible for overall utilization of plant resources to achieve strategic maintenance and reliability objectives. This includes compliance with Chemtrade Responsible Care objectives including the maintenance and reliability program, preparation and tracking of maintenance budget, implementation of capital projects, and management of all maintenance activities including the annual turnaround. The maintenance manager manages in the 1 month to 1 year timeframe.
Qualifications
Knowledge
Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Degree preferred
Lean Six Sigma training preferred
Project Management Training or experience
Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - including technical writing
Well skilled with computers and software including MS Office applications and SAP
Team player, adaptable to changing priorities
Able to drive continuous improvement using Key Performance Indicators for monitoring progress
Well organized and well versed in scheduling and coordinating multi-trade activities/projects
High level of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation aptitude
Advocate of safe work practices
Responsibilities
Provide leadership to the Maintenance Group.
Manage the plant maintenance and reliability activities including the implementation of effective preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.
Record, monitor, and evaluate KPIs to drive progress through the Reliability Centered Maintenance program.
Act as the ESL lead in the Waterchemicals Reliability Program.
Record, monitor, and evaluate KPIs to drive progress through the Reliability Centered Maintenance program.
Plan, monitor and control maintenance costs to ensure cost effectiveness and adherence to the annual budget.
Develop, manage and monitor value added capital spending. Manage all stages of capital projects from conception to commissioning.
Implement and manage safety, environmental and quality programs within the Maintenance Department and throughout the plant.
Participate in plant audits, safety reviews, and ensure compliance with all assigned action items.
Identify opportunities and drive operational excellence within the maintenance department through critical analysis of improvement projects with a Lean Six Sigma mindset.
