The Department of Physics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a Teaching Professor position in the area of Physics Education. The duties associated with the position include teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in physics or related areas, and coordinating a Learning Assistant program. Successful candidates will show commitment to the teaching of Physics pedagogy and outreach coordination as demonstrated by publications, talks, extramural funding, professional service contributions, and other recognized scholarly activities. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, and/or service endeavors. Ideal candidates will have experience facilitating all aspects of developing and running a partnership program with high school teachers.
Appointment Information
This is a nine-month, full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track position. Responsibilities will include research, teaching, and service. A doctoral degree in Physics or a related field is required at the start date, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full consideration will be given to applications received by November 30, 2023. Applications will be evaluated as received. Applications received after that date may be considered until the positions are filled. A start date is expected in the fall of 2024; however, this is negotiable.
