Your Role at Baxter

As the Senior Engineer, you'll be the driving force behind our innovative Medication Delivery solutions, supporting the development of cutting-edge products that improve patients' lives. You'll lead the charge on container design and new product development, leveraging your expertise in engineering principles to create solutions that meet the needs of our global market. Your creative problem-solving skills will be put to the test as you identify novel solutions to complex challenges, and your analytical prowess will ensure that our designs and processes are always up to par.

What you'll be doing:

Identify creative solutions to complex problems

Define and execute plans to rapidly assess and optimize designs

Use appropriate analytical methods to assess designs and processes

Operate independently, with latitude for independent judgment with some supervision while providing high quality output

Develop relevant machine tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauge and equipment.

Participate in design reviews

Review designs and drawings against: general standards, design requirements, geometric tolerances, drafting practices and the applicable manufacturing process

Develop statistically valid tests to verify/validate designs meet product/system requirements

Generate design and test documentation that meets company, FDA, and ISO requirements

Organize and present technical and project status overviews without minimal assistance

Collaborate effectively with cross functional development teams and manufacturing facilities.

Ability to organize Team work, including coaching for and support for Change Owners and Study Directors

Strong new product development and product support experience in medical product

Good experience with statistical (Minitab) and Six Sigma (5 why's, fishbone diagram, DMAIC...) tools/methodologies required

Ability to apply a diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and to make decisions independently on engineering problems and methods

What you'll bring:

B.S. in Engineering (Biomedical, Chemical or Mechanical preferred) and 3+ years of experience in the design, development and testing.

Experience with containers and/or medical devices is a plus.

Experience in design and implementation of components produced by extrusion, thermo forming and/or injection molding desired.

Experience developing/working with products and creating design documentation according to FDA and ISO medical device product development process requirements is preferred.

Experience developing 3D models using Solidworks, Pro/Engineer (Creo) or equivalent a plus.

Experience using engineering statistical methods to aid in the development decision process.

Demonstrated root cause analysis, problem solving skills, use of DMAIC tools and Design of Experiments a plus.
