Description
This position is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, datasets, predictive models and reports. The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing expertise on data acquisition, management, statistical analysis and report generation to administration, clinicians, and health care teams. This position requires the ability to function in a fast-paced, short-deadline environment. The ability to work in a collaborative manner with both technical and non-technical personnel is essential.
 Examples of Duties
75% Development of BI Content


Develops, implements, and maintains various finance, operations and clinical data reports, KPIs, and visualizations utilizing the Microsoft Power BI platform tools;

Drives business decisions and innovation by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, processes and trends to decision makers

Provide actionable insights and recommendations by utilizing statistical techniques and predictive modeling to forecast business outcomes, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks

Performs data analysis including run charts and process control charts through various tools such as Power BI, Excel, statistical software (Python, Minitab, SPSS, etc.) or SQL queries and trains others in the organization to do same as needed.

Assists in design of warehouse data sets to provide easy customer access to an integrated repository of clinical, financial, and demographic data supporting the organization analysis, planning, and improvement needs.

Works support tickets related to BI content, tools, platform usage, data issues, and other general support issues or questions related to BI and data;

Interprets and communicates findings from analysis and visualization of a wide variety of clinical and EHR based data to practitioners and leadership

Develops advanced visualizations and predictive models using business intelligence tools including, but not limited to SQL Server Management Studio, Python, and Power BI

25% Administration & Support

Meets regularly with organizational leadership and their designees to determine clinical, operational and financial BI objectives and translates these into actionable KPIs, visualizations (dashboards), predictive analytics and reports for the BI team to develop and publish;

Promotes adoption of BI self-service tools by educating consumers throughout the organization on proper use and interpretation of published content, listens to feedback and incorporates that into the overall BI strategy to enhance usability of BI platforms;

Works to enhance organizational data literacy through education of data terminology standards, analysis concepts and methods, and determining actionable data insights;

Participates in data governance meetings with a goal to continue to refine and enhance data governance policies and controls, ensures all activities by BI department staff are in compliance with organizational data governance policies, champions same policies to rest of organization;

Works close with IT leadership and the IT data operations team to ensure platform tools are in line with BI goals;

Works closely with IT data operations team to determine ETL priorities for the organization;


Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, Analytics, Healthcare Information, Statistics, Finance, Engineering or a closely related discipline.
One (1) year (12 months) of data management/analyst work experience in a clinical or healthcare related field OR a Master's degree in a closely related field
Two (2) of experience working with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
Experience in Python development
