Maintenance Technician 8:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m. M-F


Position Summary
Responsible for maintaining equipment, buildings, and grounds. Troubleshoots and repairs production equipment to minimize down time. Ensures employee safety by making necessary changes and repairs to equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities(The following statements describe the general nature of work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management):
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on the facility, warehouse and office equipment, vehicles, and fire prevention and electrical systems.
Installs new equipment, electrical upgrades up to 480 volts, and data cables.
Performs basic troubleshooting of machinery and equipment.
Performs other maintenance and repairs, as required.


Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS


Qualifications
High school graduate with equivalent of one to three years practical technical/vocational trades training and one to three years of experience.
Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, and mechanical skills. Knowledge, skills, and experience in maintenance related jobs and procedures. Knowledge of conveyor systems.
Good computer skills. Aptitude to learn specialized software programs.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively to managers or employees.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift/move up to 100 lbs., and occasionally lift/move more than 100 lbs. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock and frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, explosives, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
