Required Skills:

Graphics Software Engineer- Pipeline/Tooling, Reality Labs (Avatars) Responsibilities:

1. Develop innovative graphics frameworks, algorithms, and tools to maximize avatar quality and performance

2. Partner closely with various infra and product teams across Meta, on camera, graphics, upcoming hardware, media enhancements, and more to create real-time rendering architecture

3. Build tools and pipelines for generating very high quality digital representations of people

4. Write high-quality, performant, and maintainable code

5. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative AR/VR products

6. Develop and enhance real-time animation and AI systems

7. Document and support graphics and tooling features

Minimum Qualifications:

8. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

9. 6+ years of graphics software engineering experience or 2+ years of graphics software engineering experience with PhD

10. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

11. 6+ years of experience with C/C++ programming

12. 6+ years of object-oriented and component-based design experience

13. Problem-solving and communication skills

14. 2+ years of technical leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

15. Experience delivering AAA Games, working on Graphics subsystems, the Game experience, Tooling, Animation subsystems, or Middleware

16. Knowledge of ray tracing, rasterization and linear algebra

17. Experience with low level performance profiling and optimization

18. Experience with character animation and behavior

19. Experience implementing 3D graphics features such as lighting, effects, shaders and other low-level systems

20. Experience with tools such as Maya, Houdini, Blender, 3Ds Max, Arnold, RenderMan, or Cycles

21. Experience with any of DirectX/Vulkan/OpenGL/Metal

22. Experience with AI and/or AI tooling in a game development context

23. Experience with Unity and/or Unreal Engine

24. Experience with Python, Lua and/or other scripting languages in a game development context

Public Compensation:

$177,008/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
