Summary This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Chicago Regional Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and performs general clerical duties in support of the office. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement. Responsibilities – Responds to routine questions concerning administrative processes, including: time and attendance issues, expression of Interest (EOI) procedures, personnel actions, acknowledgment of personal events. – Assists in the administration and processing of: personnel actions, including promotions, retirements, and resignations, detail actions, award Reporting, acknowledgment of personal events, pre-exit clearances. – Prepares reports for distribution. – Assists with maintaining and updating admin’s SharePoint site, TEAMS channels, and other databases as needed. This internship position may confer conversion eligibility to the position of Administrative Support Assistant, CG-0303-06, Administrative Specialist, CG-0301-07/9, or Operations Assistant, CG-0303-06. To be eligible for conversion to the competitive service, you must complete 640 hours of work experience (up to 320 hours may be waived based on successful performance in the position and a 3.5 overall GPA); meet the OPM qualification standards for the target position; and meet the requirements of the FDIC Pathways Internship Participant Agreement. However, service in the FDIC Pathways Internship Program confers no right to further employment in the competitive or excepted service. The applicants selected will be offered an excepted service appointment without time limitation. Interns must continue to meet the requirements of the Pathways Program. Qualifications You must meet the eligibility and qualifications by the closing date of the announcement. To be found eligible for this program, applicants must: (1) be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree seeking program at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis; (2) have a minimum cumulative (overall) GPA of 2.50 out of 4.0; and (3) be in good academic standing. Education requirements are established by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and must be met by close of announcement. Applicants must have an anticipated graduation date of May 1, 2025 or later. Below are the qualification requirements by grade: CG-04 level – Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate’s degree; OR have 1 year of general experience to include: progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled; OR have a combination of education and experience: equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Combination of Education and Experience – Your current education completed is credited as a percentage of the education required for the grade level and your current experience is credited as a percentage of the total experience required for the grade level. The two percentages are added and must equal 100% in order to qualify for the desired grade level. One academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university. Education See Qualifications section. Interns will be offered a salary at the base pay for the grade in which they are qualified and selected: CG-4-= $33,308.00 base salary, plus applicable locality rate for Chicago duty station 30.41%
