The IT Security Intern will support our global IT Security team, including administrative tasks, research, and data analysis. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The intern will be expected to assist with various projects, contribute to brainstorming sessions and meetings, and maintain accurate records of project progress. Additionally, the intern will have opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and gain real-world experience in their field of interest. The role may involve some training and development opportunities, as well as exposure to industry-standard tools and technologies.

Principle Responsibilities

+ Implement best practices to the windows update policies and procedures utilizing Windows Server Update Services.

+ Provide a mechanism for reporting on the status of security updates on all MAT workstations and servers.

+ Provide KPIs for Windows Updated on all systems.

+ Implement standardized Data Loss Prevention policies for all MAT sub estates in Sophos Central.

+ Cleaning up active directory and Lansweeper so that reporting is the most useful and consistent.

+ Deploy BitLocker utilizing Sophos Endpoint Protection to all laptops and work with users to ensure a boot pin is being enforced. Provide a mechanism to report on the deployment of BitLocker and boot PIN enforcement.

Education

+ Sophomore/Junior working towards bachelor’s in MIS, Computer Science, or related field
