The Opportunity
This position works on site out of our Lake Forest, IL location. This is in our Infectious Disease division.
The Principal Statistician independently manages statistical projects and leads cross-functional teams internally for diagnostic products across business applications. The role provides guidance for achieving department objectives. The Principal statistician performs data analysis related to investigational studies, complaints, design changes, product and process improvements, stability studies and researches new methodologies for application to diagnostic products. This role facilitates statistical alignment and communication cross functionally between multiple teams in a global environment.
What You’ll Work On
+ Performs data analysis related to investigations, in process and final QC testing, design changes , stability studies etc using JMP, R, SAS etc
+ Define and sets statistical strategy in all areas including experimental design, protocols, case report form design, database structures and analysis plans
+ Addresses statistical questions from various teams globally and provides guidance on statistical methods applicable to various scenarios
+ Serve as a statistical consultant for varied studies and protocols
+ Presents statistical concepts and study protocols and reports to cross functional teams and senior/executive management
+ Ability to work in high pressure environments to rapidly deploy appropriate statistical strategies to solve issue at hand
+ Ability to work with cross functional teams and provide appropriate statistical guidance in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Similar field
Minimum 7 years’ experience in similar areas of expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in the following:
+ Performing data analysis related to investigations, in process and final QC testing, design changes , stability studies etc using JMP, R, SAS etc
+ Defining and seting statistical strategy in all areas including experimental design, protocols, case report form design, database structures and analysis plans
+ Addressing statistical questions from various teams globally and provides
+ Managing others on a team
+ Experience in Abbott or similar companies in previous roles is ideal.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
