Senior Maintenance Mechanic| Bedford Park, IL | HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Our food packaging machinery will provide an opportunity to grow your mechanical andelectricalskills. You will work from blueprints, drawings and layouts to resolve issues with motors, wiring, PLCs, drives belts and chains. Experience with Injection Molding or Extrusion machinery, highly preferred. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of relevant experience within the manufacturing industry and have the demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment & components including mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic with minimum supervision or assistance.

Available Shifts: NIGHT/Day SHIFTS

+ Monday-Friday E Shift

+ Shift Hours: 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM- 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ The Senior Maintenance Mechanic works under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventive maintenance procedures to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Maintains uptime on machines and equipment

+ Assist maintenance manager with repairs to maintain machine/equipment uptime.

+ Performs assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.

+ Demag, Husky experience required.

+ Can troubleshoot complex hydraulic circuits.

+ Experienced and proficient in hydraulic cylinder repair, rebuild and high pressure seal replacement.

+ Experienced in material transfer systems, troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds.

+ Experienced in heavy machinery repairs utilizing cranes and forklifts.2. Facility/Equipment Maintenance

+ Completes predictive and preventive maintenance on all machines/equipment/building/facility under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.

+ Reports findings/concerns to Maintenance Manager.3. Maintains maintenance and parts area in neat and organized manner

+ Assures that maintenance equipment and work areas are kept safe, clean and organized at all times.4. Special Projects

+ Prepares and sets up new/existing machines/equipment for sample and/or production runs under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.

+ Assists Maintenance Manager with special projectsand keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Maintenance Technician candidates should have 3+ years of Maintenance experience within a manufacturing organization.

+ Prior Injection Molding or Extrusion, preferred.

+ Must have High School diploma or equivalent.

+ Experience with Packaging Equipment is desirable.

+ Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems and machinery

+ Must be able to read blueprints.

+ Maintenance Technicians should have own tools; company will provide additional specialty tools if necessary.

+ Proficient with Computers is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications for Hire

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Valid Driver’s License.

3. Knowledge of equipment/facility maintenance.

4. Familiar with basic electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and plumbing work.

Preferred Qualifications (On the job training provided)

1. Able to read and understand machine schematics and troubleshooting manuals.

2. Comfortable using basic computer software (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word).

3. Able to use overhead crane.

4. Knowledge of general safety best practices.

5. Knowledge of all applicable quality standards.

6. Proficient in applicable MS software modules.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Some of the work will be performed in manufacturing facility where the noise level may be loud.

Physical Demands

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
