Job Description
Overview: Get a head start on your career as a Medical Assistant. Meet our staff, get insights into our work in the communities we serve, and learn all that Chestnut has to offer as an intern at our family health center. This part-time, unpaid position is based in Granite City, IL.
Responsibilities: Perform medical assistant duties with close monitoring and supervision. Prepare for the next day’s appointments by reviewing patient charts and identifying care gaps, obtaining outside records, and gathering paperwork. Room patients, taking and documenting vital signs. Perform health screenings and point of care tests. Provide health education materials and teaching. Perform phlebotomy services. Assist with medical examinations. Help with inventory management and stocking of exam rooms and lab. Help patients and families to fill out paperwork.
