Your Role
This is where your ideas lead to success
Reporting to the Head of External Communications - Kidney Care, the Senior Manager, External Communications - Kidney Care will support public relations activity for the company.
You will supply to a wide variety of essential communications functions for the company, including but not limited to: media relations, issues/crisis management, financial communications, and social/digital media. In addition, the role collaborates with internal partners across corporate functions in the development of creative communication and influencing strategies, key messages, and tactical plans in support of business goals.What you'll be doing
Media Relations: Under the leadership of the Head of External Communications - Kidney Care, work with reporters to reinforce Kidney Co's position on stories of interest. Pitch proactive stories and maintain good working relationships with media. Provide counsel to cross functional colleagues and leadership on the best way to engage with media. Prepare experts within the company for media engagement. Identify and place company leadership in media opportunities.
Issues/Crisis Management: Develop communications response to a variety of corporate and product issues. Build supporting materials, such as talking points, FAQs, press releases, employee communications, and social media posts. Monitor activities to detect issues before or as they emerge.What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree required in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, advertising, or related field.
Ability to identify and analyze business and audience needs to deliver messages via the most appropriate mix of media and channels.
Ability to promote and sustain long term relationships with key external team members.
Excellent writing skills with validated experience to turn complex information into clear, concise, and compelling materials under time pressure.
Excellent social media skills to build equity.
Highly developed project management and prioritization skills.
Strong capability to envision and implement change and an eye for the big picture.
Articulate spokesperson with ability to lead media relationships.
Highly motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
Advocate of ethics and compliance, aspiring to do things right the first time.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $160,000 to $220,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
