Job Description
The Adler Planetarium is seeking a Part-Time Seasonal Public Safety Representative to join our dynamic team located on Chicago's Museum Campus. The Public Safety Representative is responsible for providing facility supervision to all areas within the Public Safety Division and fully assisting other departments where needed to successfully manage a museum environment. This position will report directly to the Public Safety Manager. This individual will also be responsible for:
- Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays, when needed.
- Assisting visitors and staff with first aid, fire safety and building evacuation protocols.
- Reporting and assisting lost children/individuals by helping locate and connect them with their guardian, chaperone or group.
- Reporting any suspicious individuals or activities, unattended packages, or other events requiring additional authority to management.
- Monitoring exhibits and galleries to prevent loss or damage due to theft, vandalism, fire, or other incidents.
- Communicate effectively with other staff over the phone or by two way radio.
- Ability to complete written incident reports and daily security logs.
