PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Manager, Dev/Ops, will collaborate with IT Management to lead a cross-functional team to execute the development and implementation of projects, applying the appropriate technology principles, standards, and guidelines.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
Responsible for developing and leading teams of employee and contract developers. Assesses current abilities and creates an environment of high-quality project execution and implementation. The Manager, Dev/Ops helps implement the IT strategy and translates strategic intent into actions that bring about business and technology change. This role is one of a leader who understands the FS/GROWMARK operations and strategy, understands how information technology enables these business objectives, and is able to guide the business while improving and expediting the delivery of software projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Leads a team of developers to complete projects and assignments that adapts and incorporates both the (CX) customer experience and (UX) user experience. Ensures that development projects adhere to department conventions and standards, including contributions to documentation and project websites.

Supports IT Service activities by providing input to the ongoing continuous improvement of the strategy, framework, governance, policies, standards, procedures and controls that underpin the service. Helps resolve questions of non-conformance with IT standards raised by project teams.

Coordinates the balance between new initiatives and maintenance programming activities for multiple business units based on all technologies within the development team. Manages the workload and priorities within the business units to ensure continued progress is made within their applications.

Consults with other GROWMARK personnel at all levels to gather project requirements, build resource plans, assign project activities, manage project schedules, and other information necessary to manage projects and to present status information and project content to both internal and client management.

Maintains awareness of new and emerging hardware and software products and techniques and leads the implementation of new ideas as appropriate.

Maintains the balance between project requests, available resources, and relative priorities. Coordinates with stakeholders and IT Management to work through conflicts.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists in implementing change management and adoption of new IT related products across the GROWMARK / FS System, including working proactively within IT to market and communicate projects.

Participate in setting organizational vision, global projects, and company-wide initiatives; proactively identifying more efficient strategies for transforming our overall enterprise-wide technology platform.

Keeps informed of new developments or ideas in the industry through reading relevant articles/publications, visiting other companies and technology providers, attending conferences, etc.

Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and create structured analysis to rationalize definition of solution options.

Validates and approves time reporting of staff, ensures accurate billing for staff services, and reconciles time reporting of contract developers with invoices received from vendors for their services.

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Responsible for encouraging, supporting, and promoting innovative practices, ideas, and technologies within the team.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a college degree in information systems, business, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate the ability to advanced systems development leadership to the GROWMARK System.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have a valid driver's license and passport with the ability to work extended hours and travel independently overnight.
