About the role:
The Director, Social Media for Slack plays a key role within the Slack Marketing organization and is responsible for our public persona across all social media platforms. This person will be responsible for developing and executing an integrated social media strategy to enhance Slack brand awareness, educate customers, drive engagement and foster meaningful connections. We are looking for a creative thinker with exceptional copywriting and editing skills, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and a passion for staying ahead of industry trends. The role has two direct reports and will be responsible for managing Slack's social media agency partners.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

Manage and mentor a team of social media specialists, providing guidance on content creation, community engagement, and performance analysis.

Develop and oversee the creation of compelling and engaging content for various social media platforms, including text, images, and videos.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, product and sales, to ensure social media is integrated into campaigns and broader organizational initiatives.

Lead social-first initiatives that carry through to traditional marketing channels to drive sales and opportunity growth

Monitor social media trends, tools, and best practices, and recommend strategies for optimization and growth.

Manage Slack community, addressing public inquiries and troubleshooting flags

Analyze social media performance metrics and prepare regular reports to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.

Stay informed about industry regulations and guidelines related to social media marketing and ensure compliance across all initiatives.

Foster relationships with influencers, partners, and other stakeholders to amplify our brand presence and reach new audiences.

Manage social media agency partners and budgets to optimize resources and to maximize ROI.

Serve as the primary point of contact for social media inquiries and escalations, both internally and externally.

Required Skills:

10+ years of experience in social media

Experience overseeing social media strategy and execution

In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube)

Strong leadership and project management skills with an ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals

Excellent communications skills, with solid copywriting and editing skills and an ability to curate creative short form content.

Analytical mindset with a proficiency in interpreting data and translating insights into actionable strategies.

Creative thinker with a demonstrated ability to develop innovative social media campaigns that resonate with target audiences.

Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics platforms.

Experience working with influencers and managing influencer marketing campaign
