This role will be an integral part of the security team within the Software Assurance organization, focusing on addressing privacy concerns from assurance perspective. This position is designed for data privacy experts eager to adapt and navigate the complexities of regulatory compliance while leading privacy initiatives. In this role, you will critically assess privacy policies, develop robust data protection strategies, and coordinate privacy compliance efforts across our team.

Responsibilities

Work You’ll Do

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced privacy officer who is passionate about protecting personal data and ensuring compliance and privacy laws. You will enjoy the challenge of staying ahead of the curve and a rapidly evolving data privacy landscape, developing and refining policies that safeguard data handling practices. As part of the team, you will:

+ Lead efforts to assist in ensuring compliance with relevant privacy regulations.

+ Lead the development, implementation, and continual refinement of privacy policies and procedures.

+ Conduct privacy impact assessments, audits, and ensure risk mitigation strategies are in place and effective.

+ Collaborate with legal, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and other teams to ensure privacy-by-design is embedded into all project phases.

+ Develop and deliver privacy training to staff to foster strong culture data protection within the team.

+ Stay updated on the latest developments in federal, and state privacy laws and advised project team accordingly.

+ Play a key role in design consultations, facilitating meaningful involvement of the Security team in project lifecycles and decision-making processes.

What You’ll Bring

+ Expertise in privacy laws and regulations: deep understanding of relevant privacy regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the Privacy Act of 1974, with proven experience in implementing these in a business context.

+ Experience and policy development: strong background in developing, implementing, and managing privacy policies, and procedures that mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: ability to conduct privacy impact assessments and audits, identify potential areas of privacy risk, and develop effective strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure adherence to privacy laws and regulations.

+ Leadership and project management: proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple privacy initiatives and projects in dynamic environment.

+ Technology proficiency: understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and data management.

+ United States citizenship required.

+ Strong preference for candidates to be based in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

+ US Citizenship Required.

Nice to Have

+ Certifications: professional certifications such as the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), or similar.

+ Legal experience: background in law, particularly with direct experience in privacy or data protection legal issues.

+ Experience with incident management: experience managing data breaches and incident response.

+ AdTech or social media experience: knowledge of privacy implications in the AdTech or social media sectors, including data usage and consumer privacy protections.

+ Privacy expertise in mobile applications: experience with privacy management in mobile applications including compliance with data privacy laws and user consent frameworks.

+ Innovative thinking: ability to think innovatively about how emerging technologies might impact privacy and develop proactive solutions to these challenges.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $117,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position.
