Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description

Description We are offering a contract opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Healthcare industry. The position is based in Lemont, Illinois, and involves managing the company’s payable processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately process invoices in a timely manner

- Proactively reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies

- Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers

- Maintain vendor relationships and respond to inquiries professionally and promptly

- Assist in month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper coding and approval of invoices

- Assist with ad hoc projects and analysis as needed

- Utilize Great Plains and Yardi software systems for accounts payable processes

- Perform data entry tasks and check processing as necessary

- Address any discrepancies in accounting functions and accounts payable. Requirements – Proficiency in using Great Plains (GPAC) software for accounting functions

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, vlookups, and macros

- Comprehensive understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management

- Experience with check processing, ensuring all payments are made in a timely and accurate manner

- Demonstrated ability to perform data entry tasks with high accuracy and speed

- Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial reports or documents

- Previous experience in a healthcare or NHS setting would be advantageous

- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is desirable

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and external parties

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

- Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations in the healthcare industry

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
