Position Summary

This position has overall responsibility for the financial management of the College and oversight of corresponding data analytics requirements. Oversees financial, regulatory, and business activities for the College of Nursing, ensuring organizational efficiency and effectiveness, including financial analysis and strategic planning; forecasting; budgeting; regulatory agencies, University and State policies and procedures. This position will lead a team of finance, and accounting, and data professionals in the reviewing and approving all revenues and expenditures flowing through the College, providing advice and counsel to units within the College, and acting as liaison to internal offices as well as with the University's various central business offices for issues or questions related to the College's financial operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop, establish, and enforce policies and procedures to manage financial operations across the College of Nursing. Ensure the proper operational controls, administration and reporting procedures, and resource allocation systems are in place to operate most effectively and position the College for financial sustainability.
Oversee the College's annual budget process. Establish planning parameters, prepare annual budgets for all units, and monitor performance to those budgets.
Forecast annual revenues from all sources (e.g., tuition from education programs, ICR from research programs, patient care revenue from clinical operations, self-supporting activities) and advise the Associate Dean for Administration and College-leadership with short-term and long-term fiscal planning.
Develop and prepare special reports for College leadership (Dean, Associate Deans, Department Heads) and external stakeholders. Interpret financial data to College leadership and staff.
Facilitate and conduct appropriate training for financial staff. Participate in the recruitment and annual performance evaluation process for financial staff across the College.
Provide high level oversight for transactions flowing through individual departments and campuses. Analyze expenditures and budget variances and initiative corrective action plans when applicable.
Create and develop financial proforma templates, budgets, and cost analyses for new academic programs, clinical practice initiatives, self-supporting and revenue generating activities.
Ensure college-wide compliance with State, University, campus, and College financial policies and requirements.
Provide technical expertise and leadership in the design and development of strategies for the effective collection and dissemination of college information.
Create library of self-service reporting and visualization tools to provide insight, facilitate executive level analysis and decision-making.
