Job Description
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in the non-profit sector, located in Harvey, Illinois. The role involves managing financial records and transactions, with a primary focus on credit applications and records. The workplace operates from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Processing customer credit applications in a precise and timely manner
- Maintaining up-to-date and accurate customer credit records
- Resolving customer credit inquiries promptly and professionally
- Monitoring customer credit accounts regularly
- Taking appropriate actions for collecting overdue payments
- Reviewing bank reconciliations and identifying any potential issues
- Utilizing QuickBooks for efficient and effective financial management
- Reporting to the assigned supervisors as required. Requirements – Must have proven experience in a bookkeeping role within a Non-Profit organization
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required
- Must have strong experience with bank reconciliations
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must hold a relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification
